Maybe you've heard about cold water hardening, which became popular especially last few years ago.

Personally, I fall in love with cold water 5 years ago and here are a few reasons, why everybody should try it.

A great start of every single day

I think the hardest part of a day is a morning when your body wants to stay asleep and you want to start to do something about what really matters.
The first thing you should do then start your day with a cold shower. Don’t think about it, just do it.
Switch the faucet to cold and start showering feet, arms and finally upper body. Continue, while your body starts to shake or when you feel it's enough.
This simple routine will wake up your brain, boost your metabolism and kick off your day.

A cold shower will boost your sympathetic nervous system to elevate beta-endorphin and noradrenaline. The chemical cocktail gives you a sense of optimism and positive energy.
In the other hand, cortisol, the hormone produced by stress went down.

My ultimate morning routine continues with a cup of coffee ☕

An immune booster

Body immunity is I think one of the most important things you should care about in your life. A modern lifestyle rapidly decreases the ability of your body to fight various types of viruses and modern diseases. Every contact with cold water will trigger your immune system reaction and train your body to be stronger.

In my case, it works perfectly. If people around me sniffle and sneeze all day, I usually have no problem.

Learn to fight stress

When your body went cold - I mean really cold, it stresses your body pretty much. Why stress your own body then? Well, if you know the enemy, is much easier to fight with them.

When you have a cold shower, it’s a controlled process. You can stop it anytime you want or you can continue and push your own limits. A cold shower doesn’t kill you so the only limitation stays in your head. If you learn how to fight with the stress, You're the winner.

And if during the demanding day some stress situation will happen, your brain will have a training to fight with them automatically.

Stay focused

Cold teaches you to be focused. If your body fighting with cold, right here and right now it’s the only problem you have. Your body, your immune system and your brain are fully focused on one problem, which is that damn cold. At that moment you can not be caring about any other issues you have. It’s a very liberating feeling that everyone should experience at least once.

This process also learn your brain to focus more on one problem at a time, which will help you with concentration and productivity.
